WTF: Trigun Cosplay
Though we adore Trigun, we have so far made but one
item for the series: the Vash Coat.
Our first Vash trenchcoat was made for Halloween 2002.
The material used was black and rather odd - like velour or suedecloth with
shiney/shaved patches, which made the coat look old and disintigrating
(which was the effect we were after at the time).
This coat was lined with dark red nylon lining material.
This coat in particular has all-metal buttons, which give it a nice weight.
The only picture of this coat that we have online right now
can be viewed here
.
(Note that this picture does not feature the coat's button-on straps;
it had been washed shortly before the picture was taken, and we hadn't
gotten them back on at the time.)
We've since made another Vash coat (see pictures below).
This one is made of red poly/cotton twill with red broadcloth lining,
and has metal buttons. As the pictures below show, the sleeves can
be worn as made, or can be cinched tighter using straps that button
on. This coat also includes a belt with velcro closure (the closure
of which can be hidden beneath the button-on front panel, after
threading between the buttons).
We'd be happy to make this coat in any color(s) and material(s)
desired. (Please note, however, that real leather would incur a
significant extra cost beyond that given below. $800 is a
conservative estimate for a leather Vash coat; it could well
be more. It would also take longer to make. Suedecloth, suede-finish
vinyl, and other vinyls, however, are just fine.)
We recommend metal buttons for their nice weight (gold and
silver tones are easiest for us to acquire, but we can also get them
enameled in certain colors, including black). Plastic buttons
are available as well (for $20 off the cost below).
Also, we can make the coat with two full sleeves (as these two
examples have), or with a short left sleeve for a more accurate Vash.
For an additional $15, we can make the left sleeve long but detatchable,
so that the coat can be worn either way.
A standard Vash Coat would cost $250, with USPS priority shipping
included. Rush delivery is available for $10 more; international
shipping, being dependent upon where it would be shipped to, can be
calculated upon demand.
The price of a coat will vary only as described above.
Please be aware that it takes 4-6 weeks to make a Vash coat.
If you would like a Vash coat, and are prepared to get the
commission started as soon as possible (that is, you are
prepared to pay a $125 deposit upon commission acceptance
and have the necessary measurements - listed on the form - ready),
please contact us using
This Form.
This is for serious inquiries only!

(Please read our
Ordering FAQ
before requesting a comission.)
(Must mention, though, that we must currently leave the guns themselves
up to you - due to a new baby about to join the family, we don't have the room
or resources to make 'em now. However, for at least Vash's gun, you might
want to check
Ebay
;
that's also a good place to look for Vash glasses.)
